Contract Value: £1,400,000
Contractor: PDR Constrcution

The new retail development is perched alongside an existing canal, passing the site. A new pedestrian and cyclist route encases the site to the south east, providing safe access for all in and around the site. The new walkway opens up into an area of seating, and feature public art, transforming the area into a public space that can be enjoyed by the local community, encouraging safe passage along the canal bank and into the new Lidl food store.

The design of the store is typical in form, featuring a monopitch roof and an Aluco bond cladding system. The materiality of the building has been informed by the character of the local area to ensure the building merges well into its existing surroundings. The proposed facades will be made up of a combination of buff and red brickwork featuring soldier courses and feature bands to compliment the existing surrounding buildings.
